Activities & Clubs

Even as a small village we have plenty of regular events and social activities going.

Whether you are new to the village and would like to get to know new people; whether you need someone to walk your dog or whether would like to take up a new hobby and are looking to meet like-minded.

Browse our list of clubs on the right, or get in touch for more info.

JAZZ ON WEDNESDAYS

27th January

Val's Jam Night

The last Wednesday of every month is our open mic night where Val invites and organises, with great skill and planning, any audience members who wish to play in front of our house band (some say the more you put them behind you the better !!).

With pianist Paulo Losi, bassist Steve Picking (is there a more appropriate name for a bass player?) and drummer Mike Paxton providing the support we get players and singers from every corner of the world (well, North West London anyway) to show us their skills and talents.

If you thought Simon Cowell was good at this – wait till you see what Val can do – you'll be amazed !

Chandos pub on Station Road, Colindale

REVAMPED AND

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT THAT HAVE TURNED THE PLACE ROUND

"I went to a folk night there last week. It was fantastic. I couldn't believe the quality of the  musicians and singer-songwriters there and we didn't even have to pay. The folk night is every second Thursday in the month. Next time they are having an Irish harpist!

The pub has been bought by a young couple with a toddler, and are trying to turn it into a music venue. Emily is herself a singer with the Medieval Babes, who do madrigals and songs from that era. The Babes are very big in the States and will be touring there in the winter.
They also have a jazz night.

They have a house beer which is brewed for them, and it's not too bad, and they have a chef who specialises in excellent pizzas and home-prepared burgers. There are other things on the menu, of course, as well as some great looking puddings. They also do really good cocktails." Roe Green's roving reporter!
