RAF Museum – What’s Your Story?
The RAF Museum and Volunteering Barnet are partnering to run Conversation Cafes to encourage Colindale and Hendon residents to come together in small groups to discuss and share their memories and stories of the local area, as part of a community oral history project.
The RAF Museum will be providing fully trained volunteer interviewers to help with the flow of conversation, asking questions and prompting memories. The interviewers will be recording and collecting the conversations as part of the project, with an aim to collect and preserve the memories of residents for the future, to ensure stories of Hendon from a non-RAF view can be enjoyed and shared by future generations.
As part of a social action project, Volunteering Barnet are looking to recruit established community groups in Colindale and Hendon that would like to be interviewed. Volunteering Barnet will organise the volunteers and group members to come together for a session that will last approximately 1 hour.
This is a great opportunity to capture precious memories and is running until June 2018.
